Meta Launches Latest Chatbot Model, Llama 3, Mark Zuckerberg Calls it “State-of-the-Art”

Meta’s latest AI chatbot, Llama 3, is making waves in the tech world with its impressive performance and improved reasoning capabilities. However, despite the advancements in AI technology, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reassures the public that there are no existential risks posed by the company’s latest model.

In a recent interview with The Verge, Zuckerberg emphasized that no model, including Meta’s, is sophisticated enough to warrant concerns about widespread job loss or human extinction. He believes that the current level of AI technology is not at a point where such existential risks are a serious concern.

Zuckerberg’s comments may come as a relief to those wary of the rapid advancements in AI technology. With Meta’s commitment to making Llama open-source and available for public use, it seems that the company is dedicated to transparency and accessibility in its AI development.

However, Zuckerberg hinted that there may be some considerations in the future regarding certain aspects of the AI model, such as multimodality. If the model is able to deliver results in various forms of media, including text, images, and video, Meta may need to reevaluate its open-source approach.

Overall, Meta’s latest AI chatbot, Llama 3, represents another step forward in the company’s AI development efforts. With a focus on performance and reasoning, Meta continues to push the boundaries of AI technology while addressing concerns about potential risks. As technology continues to evolve, it will be important for companies like Meta to maintain a balance between innovation and responsibility in AI development.
