As we look toward the future, we want to share some significant changes regarding the AWS DeepRacer Student Portal that will take effect soon.
End of an Era: AWS DeepRacer Student Portal Closure
On September 15, 2025, the AWS DeepRacer Student Portal will officially no longer be available. This decision is part of a broader transition of AWS DeepRacer from a standalone service to an AWS Solution. This evolution signifies our commitment to innovating how AI and ML education is delivered, making it more impactful and accessible.
Since its launch, the AWS DeepRacer Student Portal has served as a valuable resource for thousands of eager learners seeking to embark on their journeys into AI and ML. The hands-on reinforcement learning experiences offered through the portal have proven to be vital stepping stones for many students, paving the way for their future careers in AI through initiatives like the AWS AI & ML Scholars program.
An Important Transition Timeline
Starting July 14, 2025, the AWS DeepRacer Student Portal will enter a maintenance phase. During this time, new registrations will be disabled, but existing users will still have full access to their content and training materials until the portal’s closure. Updates during the maintenance period will be limited to critical security fixes.
After September 15, 2025, users will no longer have access to the portal, but AWS is committed to providing enhanced learning opportunities through the AWS Solutions Library. This future solution will empower educational institutions and organizations to build and customize their own DeepRacer learning experiences, ensuring that learners still have access to valuable resources in the evolving landscape of AI education.
Introducing the Enhanced AI & ML Scholars Program
On May 28, 2025, we proudly relaunched the AWS AI & ML Scholars program, now featuring a generative AI-focused curriculum. This revamped program embraces the most recent advances in AI, incorporating hands-on experiences with technologies like AWS PartyRock and Amazon Q. By emphasizing practical applications and emerging skills, we are preparing students to thrive in AI careers that align with the ever-evolving demands of the technology industry.
