“Why my First Marathon with ChatGPT Training Was Slower Than Expected”
I recently completed my first marathon, but it didn’t go as well as I had hoped. Despite training with the help of ChatGPT, I ended up running slower than expected and experienced pain towards the end of the race. The reason? I didn’t stick to ChatGPT’s training plan.
I initially used ChatGPT to help me find running shoes that fit my needs, but I ended up using it for my half-marathon training as well. The chatbot provided me with a detailed training plan that helped me achieve my fastest half-marathon time. Buoyed by this success, I decided to train for a full marathon with the aim of finishing in 3:30.
However, I didn’t follow the training plan religiously. I skipped strength training sessions and neglected some of the drills. As a result, I struggled during the race and had to slow down due to pain in my knee. Despite this setback, I finished the marathon, albeit slower than I had hoped.
Despite this, I found ChatGPT to be incredibly helpful in preparing my mind for longer distances and helping me adjust as my mileage increased. I also learned the importance of rest and proper nutrition, thanks to tips from the chatbot.
Moving forward, I plan to continue using ChatGPT for my training but will make sure to follow the plan more closely. I also intend to upgrade to the newer GPT-4o model for even better results. Age has not deterred me from running faster and healthier, and I credit ChatGPT for playing a significant role in my progress.
In conclusion, while AI products like ChatGPT can be valuable tools for training and preparation, it’s essential to follow the guidance provided consistently to see optimal results. I may not have achieved my goal time in my first marathon, but I have learned valuable lessons that I will carry forward in my future races.
