Repsol’s Legal Department Implements Generative AI: An Interview with Pablo Blanco Pérez
Throughout the process of seeking AI solutions for our legal area, we evaluated several options before ultimately deciding on Harvey and Lexia. While Harvey is a US-based platform, we also decided to develop our own AI solution, Lexia, based on the GPT4 model. This dual approach allowed us to explore different possibilities and functionalities, ensuring that we could choose the best fit for our needs.
The implementation of these AI tools has not been without its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles we faced was evaluating the impact of these tools on our daily work and determining how our professionals could make the most of them. It was crucial for us that the AI tools we implemented would truly enhance the work of our legal team, helping them to be more efficient and effective in their tasks.
Despite the challenges, we are confident that the adoption of generative AI in our legal department will bring significant benefits. By saving each lawyer up to three hours a week on repetitive tasks with little legal content, we are enabling our team to focus on more high-value legal work. This shift will not only improve the quality of our legal services but also increase our overall efficiency and productivity.
As we continue on our digital transformation journey, we are excited to see the impact that AI will have on our legal operations. By embracing cutting-edge technologies like generative AI, we are positioning ourselves as leaders in the legal industry and paving the way for a more innovative and efficient future.
Stay tuned for more updates on our AI implementation and the ongoing transformation of Repsol’s legal department. We are excited to see the positive impact that these tools will have on our team and our overall legal operations. The future of legal technology is here, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this exciting advancement.
