NSDC, IIT Ropar, and Masai School Introduce Jointly Certified Programme in AI/ML to Meet Surging Demand for Skilled Professionals
As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, the demand for skilled individuals in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and machine learning is skyrocketing. To meet this demand, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), IIT Ropar, and Masai School have come together to introduce a jointly certified minor programme in AI/ML.
This programme, which consists of seven modules covering topics such as machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing, is designed to equip students with the cutting-edge competencies needed to thrive in today’s job market. By integrating AI into the curriculum, the stakeholders are ensuring that students are prepared to meet future challenges and maintain India’s competitive edge in the global arena.
The credit-linked micro-specialisation in AI and ML is currently the most in-demand and highest-paying tech job in India. Cities like Jaipur, Gwalior, and Agra are witnessing a boom in AI jobs, and the market is projected to grow significantly in the coming years.
According to Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar, the minor programme in AI and ML represents a commitment to providing students with a holistic educational experience that combines academic rigour with hands-on application. This approach not only prepares students for success in the tech industry but also ensures that they are well-equipped to take on the challenges of a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
Prateek Shukla, Co-Founder and CEO of Masai School, emphasizes that this programme is not just about transforming education; it’s about sculpting a new paradigm in skill-based learning and creating a dynamic talent pool that is ready for global success. By offering students the skills, knowledge, and industry exposure they need to thrive in the tech industry, the stakeholders are shaping the future of AI and ML education in India.
