Telford’s In-Comm Training Boosts Investment in Robotics Automation Training Cell with £200,000

Investment in Robotic Training Capability to Upskill Workforce in Telford

In-Comm Training is leading the way in providing advanced manufacturing skills training with the launch of their new 7-axis robotic training capability at their Telford Technical Academy. With an investment of over £200,000 from the Local Skills Improvement Fund and the Marches Education Partnership, this new facility will provide individuals with the skills they need to excel in industries such as automotive, aerospace, electrification, and renewables.

The installation of this state-of-the-art robotic and automation cell is currently underway and is set to be completed by May. This facility will feature a Kuka robot, servo powered head and tailstock positioner, Siemens PLC control system, ESAB MIG welding power source, and Kyrus guarding enclosure.

Gareth Jones, Managing Director at In-Comm Training, highlighted the importance of providing specialized training to meet the evolving skills requirements of advanced manufacturing companies in the region. By partnering with Telford-based Bauromat, In-Comm Training is able to offer courses in Industrial Robot Technology, Principles of Robotics, Programming of Robotics, and more to help engineers upskill or reskill in new engineering disciplines.

The focus is on providing learners with the knowledge and skills needed to interact with PLCs, perform maintenance tasks, and automate production lines. By offering Level 3 and Level 4 courses in Industrial Robotics, In-Comm Training is ensuring that companies have access to a more agile workforce that is prepared for the move towards automation and digital transformation.

With the increasing demand for skilled workers in the field of robotics and automation, this new training capability will play a crucial role in addressing the skills gap in the region. The upcoming ‘Automate your Productivity’ event on March 6th will provide businesses with a sneak peek of the development work and showcase the ways in which they can benefit from automation to improve productivity.

It’s clear that In-Comm Training is committed to providing industry-relevant training solutions that will help companies stay competitive in today’s rapidly evolving manufacturing landscape. By investing in advanced training facilities like the Telford Technical Academy, they are ensuring that individuals have the skills they need to succeed in the future of manufacturing.
