Survey reveals that majority of executives are already utilizing generative AI tools

Survey Finds INSEAD Alumni Enthusiastic About Generative AI Technology

Generative AI, or GenAI, is a rapidly evolving technology that is making waves in both personal and professional settings. A recent survey conducted by INSEAD shows that employees and business leaders are embracing this transformative technology, with two out of three respondents already using it in their daily lives.

The survey, which included over 1,200 INSEAD alumni from various industries and regions, revealed some interesting insights about attitudes towards GenAI. Contrary to popular concern about AI replacing jobs, the top worry among respondents was not job displacement but the potential misuse of AI and its ethical implications.

Interestingly, the survey found that more respondents believe that GenAI will benefit employees rather than top leaders. This belief likely stems from the perception that AI will democratize access to information and improve efficiency across a wide range of jobs.

Jason P. Davis, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise at INSEAD, notes that the survey offers valuable insights into how people are using GenAI and their attitudes towards this technology. These insights can help us anticipate the trajectory of AI adoption in various industries and regions.

One striking finding from the survey is the significant uptake and integration of GenAI in business operations, with over half of respondents indicating that their organizations are already using generative technologies. Additionally, 27 percent of organizations plan to start using GenAI in the near future, highlighting the growing interest in this technology.

The survey also revealed variations in attitudes towards GenAI across industries and regions. While respondents worldwide showed enthusiasm for GenAI, those in Europe were more likely to believe that organizations will benefit more than individuals. This skepticism may be influenced by concerns about digital privacy and a slower adoption of new technologies in Europe.

Overall, the survey sheds light on the positive perceptions of GenAI among employees and business leaders. With the technology poised to revolutionize various industries, it will be interesting to see how attitudes towards AI continue to evolve in the future.
