Harnessing the Power of Amazon Bedrock: Integrating LLMs for AI Applications in Salesforce

The integration of Salesforce Data Cloud and Amazon SageMaker has opened up a world of possibilities for businesses looking to leverage their data for AI applications. In this fourth post of the series co-authored by Daryl Martis and Darvish Shadravan from Salesforce, we explore the Bring Your Own Large Language Models (BYO LLMs) feature that allows users to use their own generative AI models from Amazon Bedrock to power Salesforce applications.

Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed service, offers a choice of high-performing foundation models from leading AI companies through a unified API. With the integration of BYO LLM with Salesforce Data Cloud and Einstein Model Builder, users can access custom generative AI models from external environments like Amazon Bedrock and use them to build predictive and AI-powered business processes across sales, support, and marketing.

The Salesforce Einstein Model Builder makes it easy for users to register their Amazon Bedrock models in Salesforce and create AI prompts grounded in their data. Using the prompt builder tool, users can integrate these prompts with Salesforce capabilities such as Flows, Invocable Actions, and Apex to build custom generative AI applications that enhance the Salesforce user experience.

Throughout the integration process, requests and responses between Salesforce and Amazon Bedrock pass through the Einstein Trust Layer, which ensures responsible AI use by protecting data privacy and security, improving the accuracy of AI results, and promoting ethical AI practices.

The collaboration between AWS and Salesforce in enabling users to harness the power of BYO LLM integration with Amazon Bedrock is a significant step towards building innovative generative AI-powered applications that meet the specific needs of businesses. With this integration, users can leverage the wealth of AI model choices available on Amazon Bedrock and create customized AI features and Copilots for their CRM systems.

To learn more about the integration of BYO LLM with Salesforce Data Cloud and Amazon Bedrock, and to start building your own generative AI applications, refer to the resources provided by AWS and Salesforce. With the power of AI at your fingertips, the possibilities for building intelligent and personalized customer experiences are endless.
