Harvey Nichols Unveils New Retail Space ‘125’

"Harvey Nichols Unveils Innovative Space: A Celebration of Design, Collaboration, and Craftsmanship"

Harvey Nichols Unveils a New Era of Design at 125: A Curated Space for Artful Living

Harvey Nichols has long been synonymous with luxury and style, and now, with the unveiling of its new space at 125, the iconic department store pushes the boundaries of design, collaboration, and craftsmanship. This curated showcase brings together established and emerging designers in the realms of home and lifestyle, offering customers a fresh perspective on how to infuse artistry into everyday living.

A Sculptural Welcome

One of the standout features of this new space is artist Gary Card’s stunning installation, “Harvey, Nick, Joe and Tom.” Inspired by totem poles, this floor-to-ceiling piece features four heads and serves as a striking welcome for all who enter. Kate Phelan, the creative director of Harvey Nichols, emphasizes the intent behind this bold sculpture: “We wanted to add a bold, sculptural element to 125 that would surprise and captivate customers,” she stated, illustrating the careful thought that went into creating an engaging atmosphere. Card’s work not only embodies a welcoming spirit but also sets the tone for innovation and creativity within the space.

An Eclectic Curated Offer

Step inside, and you’ll discover a treasure trove of design from renowned makers. The space features exquisite jewelry pieces from brands like Georg Jensen and Alighieri Casa, alongside tableware from Natalia Criado and Gohar World. Also on display are unique resin homeware items from Corsi Design and elegant glassware from Laguna B. This thoughtful selection showcases the intersection of functionality and artistry, making it easy for shoppers to elevate their living spaces.

In addition to home goods, the new area includes a curated selection of books from the London-based bookstore Claire de Rouen. This collection celebrates visual culture through art, fashion, and photography, thoughtfully accompanying minimalist speakers crafted by Scandinavian brand Transparent.

A Platform for Innovative Design

Looking ahead, 125 will serve as a platform for cutting-edge design collaborations. This autumn, Harvey Nichols will host “Take A Seat,” a bespoke chair installation by Brigitta Spinocchia Freund in collaboration with design fair Pad London. This project will not only extend throughout the Knightsbridge store but will also set a precedent for future innovative partnerships within the space.

A Strategic Revamp

The launch of 125 marks the second phase of Harvey Nichols’ comprehensive revamp of its Knightsbridge flagship store. As part of a broader strategic overhaul, the enhancements will unfold in phases, with each floor undergoing meticulous redesign. The ground floor refurbishment, revealed earlier this year, emphasizes a bold use of primary colors and an influx of natural light, thanks to newly opened windows.

The prominent corner window facing Knightsbridge and Sloane Street will transform into a dynamic pop-up space, perfect for exclusive brand activations and product launches—a fitting nod to Harvey Nichols’ ongoing commitment to remain at the forefront of luxury retail.

A Comprehensive Approach to Style

With a legacy dating back to 1831, Harvey Nichols has stores in various cities across the UK as well as international locations in Hong Kong, Dubai, and beyond. Julia Goddard, the CEO, encapsulates the brand’s philosophy: “We believe each aspect of our customers’ lives is a fashion choice,” she stated, noting how 125 brings that belief to life.

This newly curated space not only reflects the brand’s approach to style but also enhances the overall customer experience throughout the store. With the intersection of art, design, and lifestyle, Harvey Nichols at 125 is more than a shopping destination; it’s a vibrant celebration of creativity that invites everyone to find inspiration for their lives.

As we look forward to the future of this iconic brand, one thing is clear: Harvey Nichols is redefining what it means to shop in style—one stunning piece at a time.
